I met him. What a talent he was. And thank GOD he was able to capture the "moments" of life there. Wouldn't it have been great to have such lasting momentos and paintings of the grand days at the 101 Ranch? I think it is just sad beyond words that it is completely gone. The King Ranch still stands, I believe. I would love to go see what there is left of it, too. Thanks for reading and commenting! Come back and visit often!<br />CherylCheryl Piersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18116526340220274282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8591953332245661176.post-70524767978793209582009-05-30T07:02:01.873-07:002009-05-30T07:02:01.873-07:00Cheryl, I loved your account of the 101 Ranch. Matches the tales of Texas' 6666, King Ranch, etc. Thanks for sharing.Caroline Clemmonshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14914658854159456335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8591953332245661176.post-69048502553385932992009-05-28T16:11:37.111-07:002009-05-28T16:11:37.111-07:00THANK YOU MISS MAE!!!! Did you know there isn't a trace of that vast ranch left now? From what I understand, not even a trace of the old grand ranch house or anything. It's marked, where it stood, with an historic marker, but that's it. Isn't that sad? Glad you enjoyed your visit here. Tom's requirements for a wife are classic! I enjoyed my visit to your blog.Pat McDermotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17969402820726235963noreply@blogger.com
